Postcard from Skagen

On the top of Denmark.

The intention was to share these photos with you a long time ago, but things went a little left and I didn't have much extra energy for blogging. Nonetheless, I want to share this little photo diary with you from our family trip to Skagen a few weeks back.

My parents had booked rooms for my sister, her boyfriend, Edward and I, and themselves for a stay at Hotel Plesner. I hadn't been there since I was 13 years old, so I honestly didn't remember much, and it was obviously Edward's first time. I was so excited to show him such a cozy, historical place in Denmark, but was also I bit nervous to see what he thought after he had fell so hard for Copenhagen.

Location is perfect - this place is a little oasis in the middle of Skagen. The rooms are minimalist in a very pleasant way, although I wouldn't mind a little renovation of the bathrooms as well as a TV. Breakfast was delicious, and I really enjoyed having an extra cup of coffee in the outside lounge afterwards. A lovely retreat.

We started with some fresh fish cakes for lunch by the harbor and then we all went for a walk to Grenen, where the two oceans meet on the very top of Denmark. Edward was loving it so much, but so were me and my family. It's funny how we've come out of the routine of exploring Denmark. We would rather go on vacations to the southern Europe when I was younger. But I feel like Denmark has had a little comeback this year. Maybe because of the lovely summer weather... I have no idea, but it has definitely been a lovely place to vacation this year.
